Tonight, one of the Top 11 acts will face the music and go home. After last night’s stellar pack of performances, all the acts have performed, and it is now down to the audience votes which will make or break them. Louis was not present in the studio on the judges chair and his absence was definitely felt. As Simon got a bit bullyish with the girls – Cheryl and Danny about their song choices and the way they were mentoring their acts. Agreed that Simon is far more experienced than Cheryl and Danny, but does not mean that he can be so rude. And Louis wasn’t there to debate over it. Of course, the cute peck on Cheryl’s cheeks closed the heated debate, but poor girl, she almost broke into tears on National TV. What would this show be without all this drama?
Nevertheless, we saw some really awful performances aka Miss Frank and the Twin Twats – John & Edward. J&E were in Britney red leather suits performing Oops I did it again, and they were at their horrendous best. Miss Frank were just out of tune, and even performance wise, they were all over the place. Apart from them, Rikki Loney’s RESPECT was a very silly song choice and Lloyd’s Keep Bleeding just took away all the original melody of the song. But then, he’s getting the cute vote to keep himself alive in the competition. Lucie wasn’t as good as I thought she’d be, and DIVA week wasn’t her forte. Danyl was good, but not as good as his previous ones. And so was Stacey. The night’s performances were definitely from Simon’s Over 25’s : Olly Murs and Jamie Archer nailed their performances. And of course, the Diva from Degenham- Stacey Soloman gave a smashing performance.
So my predictions are:
Bottom 2: Rikki Loney and Miss Frank/ John& Edward
Elimination: Miss Frank
We’ll find out the results at 8 pm Live, London Time. Do join us for the Liveblog. Until then, discuss in the comments section. Cheerio!
We are here for the X Factor Live Results show. A quick recap of last night’s performances.
Lucie Jones looks more impressive today than she did yesterday [Second time’s a charm].
Olly was good, and gave all the reason for Simon to be more cocky.
Miss Frank were deranged, totally all over the place.
Rachel scored some good points with her Beyonce song. She definitely performed.
Joe’s performance was one of the best of the night.
Danyl was just ok compared to his previous ones.
Lloyd’s performance wouldn’t have had made him through the audition if he had performed that. But Cheryl crying and all that drama will deffo get him through.
John & Edward – ugh. Am keeping silent.
Rikki Loney – worst song choice ever.
Jamie Archer – winning performance of the night. That vocal is absolute fantastic stuff.
Stacey Solomon defined the word DIVA with her song.
Right, enough of the recap. Time for the first performance of the night. It’s Cheryl Cole. Well, I am not a Girls Aloud fan. And neither am I a big fan of Cheryl’s vocals. What can I say, I like the choreography. 😛
It’s just a mutual promotional event. Ad yes, I was right. No one gives a toss about the vocals. Its all about the raunchy moves and the synchronous group dancers. That dance was good stuff. But yeah, Simon praising Cheryl..yes, actually praising Cheryl for that performance. Well, he did say, fantastic routine. No comments on the vocals.
Anywho. Time for a break now. After the break, Whitney Houston performs. C u in a bit.
Back from the break. Voting lines are now closed. Cheryl is back on her chair. But now is the time for a huge X Factor exclusive. The incomparable – Whitney Houston. The cheers and applause in the audience is just deafening. She is performing one of her new unreleased singles. But frankly, her voice is a bit rough and I think IMO the sweetness and the raw power of her vocals is a bit lost. I like the performance or as Simon puts it – the routine. But seriously, there was not much of Whitney in it. She does seem a bit high as well. Eh well, who am I to say that! Do watch the video when it is uploaded online.
Time for another break. After the break, the results will be revealed live. Be right back.
Back with the results. Time for the moment of truth. All the contestants in their last night’s outfits are accompanied by their respective judges. Good luck to everyone.
Ok, the top 9 this week in no particular order:
1. Olly Murs.
2. Miss Frank.
3. Joe McEdlerry.
4. Danyl Johnson.
5. Lucie Jones.
6. Jamie Archer. [ Woohoo, all of Simon’s acts are through ]
7. Stacey Solomon ..phew!
8. Lloyd Daniels.
9. WTF..It’s John and Edward. WTF WTF WTF WTF!!!!
So it’s Rachel vs. Rikki in the Bottom 2. They will be singing for their survival in front of the judges. This is bullshit. Complete bullshit. I am extremely furious right now. How the effffffffff!!!! The Bottom 2 perform after the break. Oh X Factor, why do you do this to me!!!
Back from the break for the Results. It’s a sing off. Simon says its a clean sheet to start.A song for survival. Kicking off the showdown is Rachel Adedeji. She really does not belong in the bottom 2. She is singing “With or Without You” by U2. Lovely song choice. But I am still having trouble to adjust with the microphone volume levels. Her vocals are not very confident. It is pretty understandable considering her position to have been in the bottom 2 for two consecutive weeks. That was a brave performance, but I will not make any judgements before I watch Rikki perform.
Rikki’s RESPECT was a bad song choice and that is why he’s here where he is. He is singing Westlife’s “Flying Without Wings”. It’s a very powerless performance. I can’t believe someone would choose that as a song for survival. Based on the performance, Rikki should go home. Over to the judges for the decision. Louis is not here again.
Danny: The contestant that I’d send home: Rikki Loney
Cheryl: The contestant that I’d send home: Rachel Adedeji
Simon: Based upon the performance I watched, the name of the person I’m gonna send home is : Rikki Loney
So, there you go: Rikki Loney has been eliminated. Phew!
Cheryl is stunned. So one from the groups and one from the guys have been eliminated. Cheryl doesn’t feel there has been any justice with John & Edward still in the show.
Back next week with the Liveblog of the Top 10 acts. Michael Buble and Westlife perform on the results night.
