Quite shameful of Filmfare to have given absolutely no award to the finest movies of the year – Shor In The City and Dhobi Ghat. After all, it is all about loving your parents, family, and your relatives. There is a reason, why B-Town award shows are also known as Khan-Daan awards. Until the IIFA’s, keep watching this space. I will know if you don’t. Nope,..don’t even try to.

  1. whats with Parineeti sweeping all awards???
    She wasn’t much better then the girls in Luv Ka The End. How about Aditi Rao Hydari or Swara Bhaskar ?

    Crap crap crap Delhi Belly.

    wtf seems they haven’t seen Saheb Biwi Gangster and Shor in the city !!!!

    @dunkdaft,

    Luv ka the end? I thought she was nominated for Ladies vs…and the other ladies in Ladies.. were Dipannita Sharma (her debut was 16th Dec), and Aditi Sharma (Black and White?). So technically, Parineeti is nominated for debut. But I still wasn’t as impressed as everybody else is.

    I am absolutely annoyed with no awards going to Shor. Udaan made a big fuss last year. But even the critics didn’t recognise Shor. Talwa chaatoing.

  3. Enjoyed your comments.

    Glad that Usha Uthap finally won this after 40+ years.

    Thought Aruna Irani’s comments were harsh. She has been in the industry for 40 years. She has worked as a heroine, character actor, cameo, TV mother, producer, etc. I think she is worthy of a Filmfare.

  4. No disrespect meant…i like your articles and comments but Dhobhi Ghaat?? seriously??…. One of those extremely boring movies which the filmmakers make for their own creative satisfaction (although i did not find anything really creative in that) but at the end they leave you wondering what you did in the last 2-3 hrs.
    Not sure why you did not rate “I am Kalam” as one of the top 7 movies in your ratings and “Shor..” was a good movie but definitely not the best. “I am..”, “Chillar Party” and “Stanley..” are a lot better.

    No disrespect taken mate. It’s just my opinion that I really seemed to be in the zone, and I connected with the characters of Dhobi Ghat. I haven’t gone back to watch it a second time. But the one time I watched it, I was mesmerised by its beauty, and the tricky narrative.

    I didn’t rate I am Kalam, because I am yet to watch that movie. Waiting for my DVD to be posted.
