MAIN AWARDS
Child Artist : Is there any one more worthy to win this than Partho Gupte this year? I loved Chillar Party, but Stanley was on a whole different level for me.
OKS Prediction - Partho Gupte – Stanley Ka Dabba

Ensemble : Seems like Screen’s warehouse where it stores it’s statuettes is having a leaking problem. Either that, or they are feeling inspired from the Screen Actors Guild (namesake perhaps!). Anyway, the ensemble that was outstanding this year for me was Chillar Party. More than any of the rich Bwoy jokes of ZNMD, or the “blowjob” lingo of Vir Das in Delhi Belly, Chillar Party was pure unadulterated fun for me, and it is indeed a winning ensemble performance, right from Panauti to Janghya.
OKS Prediction - Chillar Party
Actor in a comic role: I get why Pitobash is nominated here. Just so that the “bigger” actors can satisfy their egos with the Supporting actor awards. Because, there was nothing comic about what Pitobash did. It was an honest and sincere performance, only the situation made it look funny. And I don’t get what was so funny about Vijay Raaz as the gangster in Delhi Belly. He was menacing. Seriously Screen, check your marbles.
OKS Prediction - Pitobash – Shor in the City.
Promising Newcomers are mostly encouraging awards so that they do not end up doing a Ladies vs Ricky Bahl. I can see Pitobash and Parineeti Chopra taking home these awards this year. But why the heck is Kriti Malhotra (Dhobi Ghat) not even nominated?
And why is the Best Actor (Negative) split into male and female? I don’t have any favourites here. Although, I’d like Amole Gupte and Kalki to win the respective awards.
Supporting Actor (Male) : The only actor which deserves to be nominated here is Rajesh Sharma for No One Killed Jessica. The rest seem like fillers to me. Look at it – Arunoday Singh for Ye Saali Zindagi, Neil Nitin Mukesh for Saat Khoon Maaf and bloody Saif Ali Khan for Aarakshan. Fuck that shit! And why the fuck…in caps..WHY THE FUCK is Deepak Dobriyal not here?
OKS Prediction - Rajesh Sharma – No One Killed Jessica
Supporting Actor(Female): Glad to see Swara Bhaskara getting nominated for her fierce and moophat Payal in Tanu Weds Manu. I’d like to see her win, but this year’s list of Supporting actresses looks like a complete hoch poch of the unknown.
OKS Prediction: Parineeti Chopra – Ladies vs Ricky Bahl.
THE BIG ONES

Best Actor Male: It is an awkward moment to see Amitabh Bachchan getting nominated for Aarakshan, just so that he can be invited to the front row. It is more awkward to see Ajay Devgan getting nominated for Singham. You know who’s winning this.
OKS Prediction: Ranbir Kapoor – Rockstar
Best Actor Female: Although I love the mental, tom-boyish Kangna in Tanu Weds Manu, this year’s best actress is inevitably going to Vidya Balan, either this way or the other. So, let the other nominees feel happy to be nominated, and fade into the background
OKS Prediction: Vidya Balan – The Dirty Picture
Best Director: If Screen had the balls, it would award Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK for Shor in the City. But since we have established the fact that it doesn’t, it’d possibly award them some “critics” award. Hence, the race is between Zoya for ZNMD, Milan Luthria for The Dirty Picture and Rajkumar Gupta for No One Killed Jessica. Drumroll please…
OKS Prediction: Milan Luthria for The Dirty Picture

Best Film : Enough with this Delhi Belly promotion. It hurts me not to see Dhobi Ghat anywhere on the entire list. No supporting role nods for Prateik, or Kriti Malhotra, or even the wonderful cinematography by Tushar Kanti Ray. Did Screen just skip it completely? Having said that, the final 4 are a strong bunch (I’m excluding ZNMD and Delhi Belly from this). So, wait for it….
OKS Prediction: Shor in the City (after all, Screen is very Mumbaiya).
